Your holiday sport offers you a picturesque view from every perspective. Above the towering backdrop of the Castle Enn. Below the course of the river Etsch. Between them: The vineyards with the best Pinot Noir in South Tyrol. Amid it all, the traditional winegrowing village of Montan—or simply, a small village. A quite location with Mediterranean stone houses and a village church. The small alleys invite you to meander about.
A fairy-tale castle rises up on a hill above your holiday spot in Montan. From some suites in the Hotel Tenz you have a direct view of its imposing walls.
The Enn family built the Castle Enn in the 12th century. Since 1648 it has been held by the Albrizzi family of Venice and their ancestors. Castle Enn is generally not available for tours. Exception: Every year in August the Musikkappelle Montan performs a concert at the Enn Castle. There both guests and visitors experience the unique atmosphere of the castle courtyard up close.
In the idyllic vineyards below Montan lies the hamlet of Pinzon. Its village church St. Stephan is home to a jewel of art history dating to the period around 1500: The late gothic altar by the famous sculptor Hans Klocker from Brixen.
Tip: The key to the church in Pinzon is found in the Priest’s Office or with the sacristan.
Good to know: The small wine-growing village of Montan and hamlet Pinzon belong to the tourist region Castelfeld along with the areas Auer, Neumarkt and Salurn.
